4. Steady progress was made over the whole of this period on draining and converting from cultivation the large areas of ground at King's Park, Kowloon and in the centre of the Race Course at Happy Valley on which the Royal Naval Recreation Club had some seven playing fields up to 1941. These grounds will be ready for play at the beginning of next season (mid- September).

5. At the end of February, with the revival of certain Civilian Clubs, the following have been given up:—

1 Soccer ground to the Kowloon Cricket Club.

1 Seven-a-side Hockey Pitch to the Kowloon Bowling Club.

1 Hockey Pitch to the Chinese Recreation Club at Causeway

Bay.

The 2 Tennis Courts in the Dockyard have also been given up in order to make way for the construction of the Fleet Mail Office. In lieu 6 hard courts at Causeway Bay are in course of preparation and should be ready at the end of March.
